Online schools otherwise referred to as distance education is all the rage now days with more and more students entering online degree programs each day. Online nursing schools offer a number of advantages. One of the biggest is attending school online allows you to take classes when it's convenient for you and your not held to a schedule. Being able to attend class online has opened up educational opportunities for adults with busy jobs and family lives. Online nursing classes allows the student to study and take tests when it fits into their schedule.

Many online nursing schools cost less to attend than a traditional school of nursing. This is because the college or university has less overhead. In addition one Professor can teach several more classes. Last, but not least since you are taking the program in your home you won't have to assume travel and meal costs as if you were attending in person.

One of the initial reasons many traditional colleges rejected online classes was it was believed the quality of education would suffer because the student wasn't there in person to learn. This theory has long been proven wrong in fact those attending online colleges are now believed to receive as good a education if not better than those attending programs in person.
