Why Is Pay Increasing
NSC Sr. Staff Writer

Nursing pay is increasing because there are not enough nurses to fill the demand for nurses. The law of supply and demand has kicked in and nurses are the beneficiaries of a shortage of qualified nurses. Hospitals which employ 3 out of 5 Registered Nurses must compete with other hospitals and healthcare providers to not only attract recent graduates of nursing schools, but also retain the Nurses they already have on staff. Nurses are receiving the pay and benefits they deserve at a time our healthcare agencies need them most.
