So you want to be a nurse or Certified Nursing Assistant, but have no idea how you will pay for it. Well the good news is paying for school shouldn’t be an excuse for getting the education you need to start your career as a Nurse or Certified Nurse Assistant. There are a variety of ways you can pay for your education in Nursing and different ways to pay for your advanced training if you are already in the healthcare field. Some of the more popular are grants, scholarships and student loans. In this article we’ll give you a brief description of each of them.

The first type of payment assistance is a grant. Grants are different than loads because the grant doesn’t require you to pay it back. There are state grants and federal government grants. I should warn you that not everyone is eligible for a grant. Grants are based on a number of factors including the amount of money you currently make. I suggest to everyone they at least try for a state or federal grants because if they provide the grant this is basically money in the bank for your education which doesn’t have to be paid back.

Student loans are another way to get yourself through Nursing School or receive training to become a Certified Nursing Assistant. These are loans either from a bank or from the federal government. Most government loans are at a reduced interest rate making them very attractive. Loans due need to be paid back, but the good news are payment can be spread out over many years. This is beneficial since you can repay these loans back after you’re making a good living while being a Nurse or Certified Nursing Assistant.

Scholarships are another way to pay for your nursing school. Scholarships are awarded due to excellent qualifications, organizations you belong to or any of a number of reasons. To get information on scholarships either see a guidance counselor at your current school or a nursing school or investigate them on the Internet. Each year millions of dollars of scholarship money goes unrewarded simply because no one applied. Scholarships don’t have to repaid so this like Grants is free money to use for your schooling or training.
